Leveraging Cold Email Lists to Drive Growth
Barbara Arora
Introduction
Cold email lists are an effective way to reach potential customers. But, it’s important to understand the nuances of building an effective list and utilizing them in the right way. In this post, we will discuss why building your email list is important, what you do with a cold email list, why personalization is key, how to nurture a cold email list, and why demographic-based lists can lead to failure.
But cold emailing can be frustrating and disappointing sometimes when results are not coming in even after trying multiple cold emailing strategies. Additionally, a lot of cold emails are marked as spam.
However, a significant portion of cold emails never even get opened. The typical email open rate is between 14 and 23%. This indicates that in the cold email outreach process, around 80% of cold emails are entirely disregarded.
Here is the good news, though.
You may easily obtain an email open rate of 70% if you follow the appropriate procedures and use proven tactics, and you can attain response rates as high as 15%.
We tried several different approaches to writing cold emails to see what would work after I had exhausted most of my possible prospects.
Make Sure Your Email is Personalized
Another key tip when writing cold emails is to make sure that it is personalized for each recipient. Don’t send out the same generic message to everyone on your list; instead, take the time to research each person you’re sending your email to and tailor your message accordingly. This will ensure that they read it thoroughly and take what you’re saying seriously.
Set the right tone
According to a recent study, the majority of individuals (70%) choose to purchase in order to solve their issues, whereas just 30% do so in order to acquire something beneficial. Therefore, you should emphasize in your emails that you are available to help them with their concerns and press that pain point.
Focus on Quality Over Quantity
Finally, focus on quality over quantity when crafting cold emails. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the task ahead, but don’t let yourself fall into this trap! Instead, focus on creating a few high-quality emails that provide meaningful value rather than a lot of low-quality messages that just clog up people’s inboxes.
Word choice, grammar, punctuation, letter case, sentence length, opening, closing, and other graphic cues like emoticons and emoji can all be used to establish the “tone” of your email.
A conversation with another person allows you to share the same physical space and emotional environment, but an email interaction does not.
Write with the understanding that the prospect might not be in the same psychological or emotional condition at the moment when he/she reads the email.
Conclusion:
Cold emails are an invaluable tool for business owners who are looking to expand their reach or forge new relationships with potential customers or partners. While there isn’t a single “right” way to write a cold email, following these tips will help ensure that yours has the best chance of success—namely, keeping it short yet personalised, focusing on quality over quantity and avoiding generic messages whenever possible. With these tips in mind, you can be confident in writing effective cold emails that drive results for your business!
