Overview

Soulful Evolution, led by Alison Carmany, is a transformative healing brand offering life coaching, psychic guidance, and deep personal development work. Over the years, Alison built a community of more than 50,000 members—people who had attended her webinars, purchased programs, or engaged with her spiritual teachings.

But there was a problem.

Despite having such a large audience, email engagement had collapsed.
Messages weren’t reaching inboxes consistently, and many of her most aligned clients weren’t even seeing her offers.

Over the past year, we rebuilt Soulful Evolution’s email infrastructure, took control of deliverability, and launched a re-engagement system powered by our own cold-email stack (Smartlead + Instantly + custom SMTP servers), GoHighLevel, and ActiveCampaign.

Result: We reactivated roughly 70% of the audience, bringing them back into the funnel and getting them to sign up again for Alison’s webinars and membership offers.

The Challenge

Soulful Evolution’s biggest asset—its list—had become its biggest frustration.

Key issues included:

- 50,000+ subscribers, but very low engagement
Opens, clicks, and responses were far below what the audience size should have produced.

- Deliverability limitations with GoHighLevel’s Mailgun setup
GHL was the main system in place, but GHL’s default Mailgun-based sending struggled to get messages into Primary inboxes, especially for older contacts and cold-ish lists.

- “Cold” audience with high spiritual alignment but low recent interaction
People knew Alison, but they hadn’t heard from her in a while in a way that actually reached them. The desire for her work was there—if we could get back in front of them.

Soulful Evolution didn’t need more subscribers.
It needed a way to wake up the audience it already had.

What We Did

We treated this as a reactivation and deliverability project, not just a “send more emails” problem.

1. Audited the Existing Sending Setup

We started by reviewing:

Current GoHighLevel sending via Mailgun

Historical engagement patterns

List structure: old leads, webinar attendees, buyers, members

How contacts flowed between GHL and ActiveCampaign

Inbox placement indicators

This confirmed what Alison already suspected:
deliverability, not interest, was the main problem. People simply weren’t seeing her emails.


2. Built a Separate High-Deliverability Outreach Infrastructure

Instead of pushing harder through Mailgun, we built a dedicated re-engagement stack:

- Our own SMTP servers optimized for cold and warm outreach

- Smartlead and Instantly as sending and automation layers

- Controlled sending volumes and patterns to protect domain reputation

- Clean, structured outreach domains separate from the core brand

This allowed us to reach old contacts as if they were a cold list, but with the context and respect they deserved as prior community members.


3. Designed a Re-Engagement & Membership Offer Campaign

We created a tailored reactivation strategy that:

Spoke to the emotional and spiritual journey of Soulful Evolution’s audience

Invited them back through a webinar and membership-style offer

Reframed the relationship: “You’ve been on this path with us before—here’s how we can support you now.”

The messaging was built around:

Transformation

Support through life transitions

Access to Alison’s ongoing guidance via membership

A clear, simple next step: re-register for the webinar and step back into the community


4. Synced the Tech Stack: GoHighLevel + ActiveCampaign

We then:

- Used GoHighLevel for funnels, tagging, and orchestration

- Used our SMTP + Smartlead + Instantly for initial reactivation outreach

- Pushed engaged contacts back into ActiveCampaign for nurturing, automation, and long-term relationship building

In other words:

- Outreach & reactivation: our infrastructure

- Nurture & ongoing communication: ActiveCampaign

- Funnel + tracking: GoHighLevel

This gave Soulful Evolution both reach and depth in the customer journey.

By the end of the buildout, Soulful Evolution had a repeatable re-engagement engine:

This system wasn’t a one-off blast.
It was a structured, multi-step reactivation machine that could be used again for future waves of dormant members.

- Dramatically improved open rates vs. prior GHL/Mailgun sends

- High click-through rates on webinar and membership calls to action

- Ongoing engagement inside ActiveCampaign automations once people re-entered the ecosystem

In practical terms:
the same list that had gone quiet became a living, responsive community again.

Conclusion

Soulful Evolution didn’t need more ads, more lead magnets, or more complexity.
It needed a way to reconnect with the people who already resonated with Alison’s work.
